Industry Standard / HETAS Chimney Sweeping

A single sweep of a standard sized, well maintained, open fire chimney usually takes around half an hour. A logburner or multi-fuel stove burning good quality fuel at the correct temperature can be very clean and may take around 20 minutes. Brushes and rods are used and a vacuum cleaner to remove the falling dust. The opening of the fireplace and the carpet or flooring will be covered to avoid the soot coming back into your room. The whole of the chimney will be swept until you can see the brush sticking out of the chimney as required by the Industry Standards. If you are experiencing problems and your fire is not burning as well as usual, is smokey or you can hear noises in the chimney then get a sweep booked in. 

You may find that after a sweep the problem has gone or you may need a cowl fitted or work is needed at roof level.
Standard certificates and receipts are sent electronically to all customers at no extra cost.
HETAS certificates can be issued for an extra fee. Printed certificates can be mailed for an additional fee.
If you do not provide an email address you will not automatically be sent a certificate for your sweep.

* Cleansweep Vac Services can sweep a standard chimney for you quickly and cleanly from £50 per chimney. * * Discounts are available if you book online, or if you prefer to book by email and have 2 or more to be swept at the same time, in either the same house or same street on the same day. We'll also clean out your fireplace or stove including the glass as part of the service and advise on any further maintenance needed. 
* Larger chimney stacks such as inglenooks take longer and thus cost more. Removing blockages or birds nests also costs a little extra. Bird Guards, Caps and Rain Cowls cost from around £100 to install.

Cash, Cheque, Bank Transfer and card payment via the internet. Because of poor signal in some of our rural areas, we do not have contactless facilities. You can book a chimney sweep online but do not need to pay until the job is complete.
